Psalm Analysis

Psalm 91 King James Version, like most, if not all, teaching moments in the Bible, pushes and constantly reminds the reader that God will always and has always had their best interest at heart. It says that he will guide them on the path they are meant to follow as long as you trust in him. The first half of the Psalm speaks on having faith, it is as if it is comforting the reader, telling them everything will be okay. Lines such as verse four and five are great examples of this. "He shall cover the with his featgers...his trust shall be thy shield and buckler." and "Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night..." In the very next lines, verse six and verse seven, it states that the people that do wrong in the cover of night and those that do so in the light of day will all fall and perish, but your faith is what shields you, seeming to draw refrence from verse four.
The second half of the psalms, while still having the same message of having faith, at this point it feels more powerful as it goes into detail on how God will protect them and goes more into showing the strength of their own faith. Verse eight states that only with faith shall you see the truth of the world around, shall you have true understanding; said verse reminds me of Eve, how she was tricked into eating the forbidden fruit for the prospect of knowledge, for understanding, but that was not pure or decent, it did not have faith, only through faith could you find knowledge in it's purity. Verse nine, ten and eleven again shows the strength of God's love, that he would give his most perfect creations to watch over his not so perfect ones. Verse twelve and thirteen again just show the lengths that God and his higher creations will go through to make sure you are okay. The last three verses shows the strength on their faith, how they would do and give anything for their lord and saviour, how their faith in him is all they need, and will ever need.
